Terminology binding is part of process of preparing a resource profile specification. If the resource element is a codeable element the resource profile specifies the code system, code system term, or value set from which the allowable concepts for the resource element are drawn. The terminology binding can be to an entire code system - Code System Binding, a single code system term - Fixed Value Binding, or to a collection of code system terms - Value Set Binding.
The following tables provides the set of code system, fixed value, and value sets bindings expressed in this implementation guide.
Fixed value bindings occur when a coded element is bound to a single value from a given code system. The table below is organized by code system and then within code system to profile name and coded profile element followed by the fixed value literal in quotes.
