This page provides a list of the FHIR artifacts defined as part of this implementation guide.
There are no Global profiles defined
The following artifacts define the specific capabilities that different types of systems are expected to have in order to comply with this implementation guide. Systems conforming to this implementation guide are expected to declare conformance to one or more of the following capability statements.
pa-care-manager |
Describes the expected capabilities of a system that is responsible for managing issues related to the physical activity level of a patient. |
pa-patient-engagement |
Describes the expected capabilities of a system intended for use by patients and caregivers of patients who are working to enhance or maintain their levels of physical activity. These will typically be web-based or mobile applications. |
pa-service-provider-full |
Describes the expected capabilities of a system used by a personal trainer, community fitness organization, or other entity that delivers services that help a patient to improve or maintain their level of physical activity. This set of capabilities is appropriate for service providers that CAN expose their own FHIR server and that store Tasks, reports and other resources locally and expose them for query by Care Managers and Patient Engagement systems. |
pa-service-provider-light |
Describes the expected capabilities of a system used by a personal trainer, community fitness organization, or other entity that delivers services that help a patient to improve or maintain their level of physical activity. This set of capabilities is appropriate for service providers that CANNOT expose their own FHIR server and that rely on the Care Manager to store Tasks, reports and other resources. |
These are profiles on resources or data types that describe patterns used by other profiles, but cannot be instantiated directly. I.e. instances can conform to profiles based on these abstract profiles, but do not declare conformance to the abstract profiles themselves.
PA Base Observation |
A profile describing base requirements for all primary physical activity observations. |
PA Vital Sign Observation |
A generic profile that encapsulates all the physical activity vital sign observations. |
These define constraints on FHIR resources for systems conforming to this implementation guide.
PA Care Plan |
A plan describing the plan to improve or maintain a patient’s level of physical activity |
PA Condition - Low Physical Activity |
A condition that conveys the fact that a patient has a clinically significant and insufficient level of physical activity |
PA Intervention Report |
Conveys a summary of the interventions and patient interactions that have occurred over the course of the services delivered by a Service Provider, typically in response to a referral |
PA-Related Goal |
A goal that sets a target for a patient’s physical activity level |
PA Observation Activity Group |
A profile for observations that collects a set of activity-related measures that all pertain to the same physical activity instance. |
PA Observation - Activity-based |
A profile for observations that capture physical activity-related measures that are specific to a single physical activity. |
PA Vital Sign Days per Week |
A profile for observations that capture a patient’s average days per week of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. |
PA Vital Sign Minutes per Day |
A profile for observations that capture a patient’s average minutes per day of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. |
PA Vital Sign Minutes per Week |
A profile for observations that capture a patient’s average minutes per week of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. |
PA Strength Days Week |
A profile for observations that capture a patient’s average days per week of muscle-strengthening physical activity. |
PA Measure - Time-based |
A profile for observations that capture physical activity-related measures that apply over an extended period, such as a day or week. |
PA Related Person |
A profile on RelatedPerson that mirrors the requirements of future US Core versions |
PA Service Request |
Represents orders and referrals for interventions that help to improve or maintain a patient’s level of physical activity |
PA Task for Referral Management |
Represents a request for fulfillment of a physical activity-related referral or order and supports management of the same. |
These define constraints on FHIR data types for systems conforming to this implementation guide.
Reference - RESTful |
A Reference data type where the referenced resource is expected to be resolvable RESTfully. |
Reference - RESTful or Logical |
A Reference data type where the referenced resource could be resolvable RESTfully or pointed to logically. |
These define sets of codes used by systems conforming to this implementation guide.
PA DiagnosticReport Statuses |
Codes for DiagnosticReport.status for reports that are appropriate for exchange for physical activity purposes. Excludes non-completed and unknown-status Observations. Entered-in-error is retained to allow correction of previously shared results that should not have existed. |
PA Report Types |
Codes for types of diagnostic reports relevant to physical activity referrals |
PA Observation Activity-related codes |
Codes physical activity measures that relate to a single contiguous period of physical activity/exercise |
PA Observation Vital Sign Codes |
Codes for Physical Activity Vital Sign components |
PA Observation Statuses |
Codes for Observation.status for Observations that are appropriate for exchange for physical activity purposes. Excludes non-completed and unknown-status Observations. Entered-in-error is retained to allow correction of previously shared results that should not have existed. |
PA Observation Time-related codes |
Codes for physical activity measures that aggregate or summarize activity over a time period, such as a day or week |
PA ServiceRequest Category - USCore |
A subset of US-Core ServiceRequest category codes that are applicable to physical activity interventions. |
PA Referral Intents |
Codes for ServiceRequest.intent for exercise prescriptions and referrals. |
PA ServiceRequest Intervention Codes |
Codes for types of physical activity interventions |
PA Referral Task Status |
Codes indicating allowed for Tasks seeking fulfillment of physical activity-related referrals |
These define new code systems used by systems conforming to this implementation guide.
Temporary Codes |
Codes that will eventually be proposed for LOINC or other code systems, but which do not yet exist in ‘official’ code systems |
These are example instances that show what data produced and consumed by systems conforming with this implementation guide might look like.
