Summary

Defines exchange expectations for systems that implement the 2022 CDC Clinical Practice Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Pain, both in terms of the data required to evaluate whether recommendations are applicable, as well as the data required to represent proposals resulting from those recommendations.

Scope of Use

This implementation guide proposes a standardized exchange of FHIR profiles that convey information referenced by the 2022 CDC Clinical Practice Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Pain recommendations. The decision support logic authoring and clinical relevance of the 2022 CDC Clinical Practice Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Pain is not within the scope of this implementation guide.
