MDI Profiles

Profiles related to the MDI to EDRS data flow.

Bundle - Document MDI to EDRS

This Bundle profile represents an MDI to EDRS Document Bundle. It contains a Composition - MDI to EDRS.

Composition - MDI to EDRS

This Composition profile represents data sent from an MDI information management system to an EDRS.

List - Cause of Death Pathway

This List profile is an ordered list of cause of death conditions.

Observation - Cause of Death Condition

The Observation - Cause of Death Condition profile reflects one of the eventually ordered causes of death asserted by the death certifier. The cause of death is initially specified with text.

Observation - Condition Contributing to Death

The Observation - Contributing to Death profile is used to identify factors contributing to the cause of death as asserted by the death certifier.

Observation - Death Date

This Observation provides the death date, death location, death pronouncer, and date pronounced dead. If the actual date of death is known, set value to type dateTime. If the date of death is not known, and a range is known, set value to type Period.

Observation - Death Injury/Event Occurred at Work

This Observation identifies whether or not death resulted from events or an injury that occurred at work.

Observation - How Death Injury Occurred

This Observation provides the certified explanation of how the injury leading to death occurred.

Observation - Manner of Death

This Observation provides the conclusion arrived at upon completion of death investigation regarding the manner of death (e.g., natural, homicide, suicide, accident).

Observation - Decedent Pregnancy

This Observation provides an indication of the pregnancy status of the decedent.

Observation - Tobacco Use Contributed to Death

This Observation provides the conclusion arrived at during death investigation regarding the extent to which tobacco use contributed to the death of the decedent.

Toxicology Profiles

Profiles related to the toxicology data flow.

Bundle - Message Toxicology to MDI

This Bundle profile represents a Message Bundle from a forensic toxicology laboratory to an MDI information management system. It contain a Message Header and a DiagnosticReport - Toxicology Lab Result to MDI.

MessageHeader - Toxicology to MDI

This MessageHeader identifies the DiagnosticReport being sent from a forensic toxicology laboratory information system to an MDI information management system.

DiagnosticReport - Toxicology Lab Result to MDI

This profile contains constraints to the US Core Diagnostic Report Profile to address the use case for sending data from a forensic toxicology laboratory information management system to an MDI information management system.

Specimen - Toxicology Lab

This Specimen profile identifies and describes the specimen sent by a Medical Examiner, Coroner, or autopsy performer to a toxicology lab for analysis.

Observation - Toxicology Lab Result

This Observation profile describes forensic toxicology laboratory test results from analysis of a specimen sent by a Medical Examiner, Coroner, or autopsy performer to the laboratory.
