The US Core Medication Profile is based upon the core FHIR Medication Resource and created to meet the 2015 Edition Common Clinical Data Set 'Medications' requirements.

Binding: The set of RxNorm codes to represent medications (preferred)
status0..1StringA code to indicate if the medication is in active use.
Binding: A coded concept defining if the medication is in active use. (required)
manufacturer0..1QICoreOrganizationDescribes the details of the manufacturer of the medication product. This is not intended to represent the distributor of a medication product.
form0..1ConceptDescribes the form of the item. Powder; tablets; capsule.
Binding: This value set includes all dose form codes from SNOMED CT - provided as an exemplar. (example)
amount0..1RatioSpecific amount of the drug in the packaged product. For example, when specifying a product that has the same strength (For example, Insulin glargine 100 unit per mL solution for injection), this attribute provides additional clarification of the package amount (For example, 3 mL, 10mL, etc.).
