| description | The US Core Observation Social History Profile meets the U.S. Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI) v2 ‘SDOH Assessments’ requirements. To promote interoperability and adoption through common implementation, this profile sets minimum expectations for the Observation resource to record, search, and fetch retrieve observations that represent simple observations made by an individual about a patient's social history status such as education, food insecurity, etc. It identifies which core elements, extensions, vocabularies and value sets **SHALL** be present in the resource when using this profile. It provides the floor for standards development for specific uses cases. | This Observation profile represents potential patient exposure and contact information and should be used to record information about the patient's exposure to an agent (exposure source) or to record information about those that the patient could have exposed to an agent (exposure target). Recording of this information could assist/support in contact tracing or other control measures. |
